Inspired by the owners’ muilti-passion for hospitality, travel, nature, adventure, and healthy living, Laha Hotel opened its doors for business on the 15th April 2016 as a self-catering establishment. A lot has happened since then.
We have diversified our offering. We now have an in-house restaurant, have added 2 other accommodation offerings in Maun (a safari camp for natural enthusiasts and a suite of self-catering apartments) and a safari and tours offering. We are now a one-stop destination management company.
Laha Hotel is designed to make your stay a comfortable, relaxing and homely experience. We offer comfortable, spacious and elegant rooms in a serene environment & the best hospitality for an affordable price in one of the most convenient locations in Maun. The hotel has 15 rooms with options including standard, standard plus and family rooms, executive and premier rooms. The rooms are individually decorated with an elegant feel and are fitted with en suite bathrooms, air conditoning and tea and coffe making facilities. We serve healthy and tasty meals prepared with both your health and tastebuds in mind.
Designed with the business traveller in mind, the hotel has a 30 person conference room and a friendly restaurant offering healthy and tasty meals. Located at the rear of the hotel is a swimming pool, where guests can find the pool bar, a traditional fire-chat side boma and ample outdoor space to chill and relax. Laha Hotel is ideal for small meetings and workshops, corporate wellness retreats, team building retreats, customised group bookings and outdoor events.. Laha Hotel also has complimentary shuttle services.
Laha Safaris & tours offer unique tailor made transformative mobile camping and lodge to lodge safaris in Botswana. Activities include game drives, horse back safari, scenic flights, village tours, mokoro rides, boat cruises, conservation-infused excursions and impact-driven excursions. Our commitment to sustainability
Our commitment is straightforward and our efforts humble—we started where we are, with what we have and we make decisions in light of what will make the world a better place, designing with future health for our team, guests, communities and the environment in mind and offsetting any negative impact when possible.
With our core values on holistic wellness, environmental sustainability, and community impact, we align with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We align best with the first 5 goals; No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Wellbeing, Quality Education and Gender Equality. This is a work inprogress, and we are gradually aligning with the other goals.
We recruit, train and employ local community members,. 75% of our employees come from Maun and surrounding areas. Our team eat meals and celebrate birthdays collectively on site. We subsidize our staff meals so that our employees don't work on an empty stomach nor stress about what they are going to eat at work. We prioritise the wellbeing of our team. We educate the team on health and wellness, and serve them nutrionally balanced meals. We accept students for internship, and enrol our employees for training and team building programs. More than 30% of our management and leadership team is made up of women, and 75% of our workforce is women.
During your stay, we make it easy for you to join in our commitment—enjoy healthy and delicious meals sourced from local producers, water stations for your convenience, wake up to an indoor lawn manicured garden with live plants, make use of our outdoor spaces to ground and restore your connection to nature, among more behind the scenes initiatives like biodegradable materials utilized wherever possible.

We're located in Boseja -Maun, Botswana
Laha Hotel is siutated along new Boseja Road- Route, about 900 metres away from Choppies Boseja. It is really easy to get here by car. From the Francistown road, take the immediate right turn after Choppies Boseja and drive along the road for about 900 metres. You will see us on your left. If you're lost on your way, feel free to give us a call to get the direction. We also offer a complimentary shuttle from the airport..

Meet the people behind Laha Hotel & Safaris
"I was born and raised in Maun from humble beginnings and it was the best childhood experience ever that I wouldn't trade for anything. Later I left my hometown to study and work in the capital city, Gaborone, but always lacked this breathtaking nature Maun has to offer. I got married to my University sweetheart, Lawrence a few months after we graduated from university. Twenty three years ago, when an opportunity presented itself for him to start his own law firm, he decided on Maun. Two years later I quit my academic job and came back home to join him. Armed with a desire to create passive income through real estate, we started acquiring land. Leveraging on our collective passion for hospitality, travel and real food, we decided to build a hotel with self-catering capabilities on one of the pieces of land we had acquired in Maun. That's how Laha Hotel was born.
My first degree is in Ecology and my Master's degree is in Botany - so my love for nature and taking care of the environment comes naturally for me. As a Leadershifp and Transformational Coach, I have extensive experience in crafting and hosting transformative travel experiences both locally and internationally. In 2019 when we were looking to scale the business, we decided to leverage on my 10 years expertise as a Transformational Coach and our passion for travel, nature and adventure, to expand our hosipitality offerings to safari and tours. That's how Laha Safaris & Tours was born. Lawrence and I know all the ins and outs of Maun and surrounding areas. Combined with our first-hand experience and love for the bush, we bring in all our passions, skills, and expertise in curating meaningful travel experiences for guests to Botswana that is more than just an ordinary safari. We get out on safari and into the bush regularly, and we are proud to be part of the transformative safari lifestyle. We will be happy to share it with you!"
