 MOREMI GAME RESERVE

1 DAY GAME VIEWING


Maun is the gateway to the iconic Okavango Delta, a vast inland river Delta in northern Botswana. It's sprawling grassy plains, which floods seasonally makes it a lush animal habitat. The Moremi Game Reserve occupires the east and centrela areas of the region. The Moremi Game Reserve is currently ranked No 6 in Africa, by 2500 world renowed nature and wildlife experts for the best game viewing, nature and wildlife expereinces in Africa. So a trip to Maun without a visit to Moremi Game Reserve will not suffice.  We offer day guided game drives to Moremi Game Reserve - you will leave early in the morning, and come back in the evening. Be prepared to take in the breathtaking sites, beautiful wildlife, that we're proud to share with you.



MOKORO TRIPS & BOAT CRUISE

Take a pick, choose between a cruise along the Thamalakane & the Okavango Delta in a traditional wooden canoe guided by professional guides along the narrow channels of the delta, a boat cruise in a small engine boat or a boat cruise in a luxurious double-deck boat which comes with a hostess, bar and ablution facilities along the Boteti River in Chanoga.

HORSE BACK SAFARI

Horse Riding along the Thamalakane River. This is more than horse riding - it's HORSE BACK SAFARI! The horse ride takes place in a wildlife reserve on the outskits of Maun. Daily rides, led by an experienced and knowledgeable guide take place every morning and afternoon.A large variety of wildlife roams the reserve including giraffe, zebra, kudu, eland, oryx, springbok and other species. The wildlife is wonderfully relaxed in the presence of the horses allowing for close encounters and great photographic opportunities. 

SCENIC FLIGHTS

Interested in game viewing, but you don't fancy the bumpy drive to Moremi Game Reserve? Then consider going on a scenic flight. A scenic flights offers you the opportunity to discover the lush surroundings of the Okavango Delta by air. Not only will you witness the magnificent scenery of the area, you’ll also have a high chance of spotting wildlife. If it's your lucky day you may be treated to viewings of large fields of buffalo, roaming elephants, a journey of giraffe, and wallowing hippos.

ELEPHANT HAVENS ORPHANAGE VISIT

Elephant Havens Orphanage is a non-profit organization with a vision to protect and preserve the African elephant through habitat protection, community outreach, rescuing and hand-rearing of orphaned elephants. Elephant Havens, a sanctuary for abandoned and orphaned elephants is situated 45 km from Maun. It’s a safe place for them to be cared for until they can be reintroduced into the wild.


The place is open to the public to visit and learn more about elephants. The handlers will give you an introduction to each orphaned elephant and its background story. You will also learn about the anatomy, intelligence and emotional makeup of elephants, and the needs of the orphaned babies. This gives you an opportunity to get close and personal with the elephants in a safe environment. While there you can feed, touch them and take a picture with them. This is a great activity for the entire family.

 


GIRAFFE EXPERIENCE

One of the hidden gems that most people don't know about is a 250- hectare private nature game reserve situated 20km from Maun. This private reserve is residence to aherd of 20 giraffe, which you can observe and  get up close and personal to in the morning and evening while they feed at the waterhole. There are naturalists on hand, who will be able to tell you all about these fascinating animals. You can learn each giraffes Setswana name, and how to identify them by their unique spots. There are identification books  at the waterhole so that you can work out who’s who. Contact us for a close and personal encounter with giraffes while you are in Maun.

MAUN CULTURAL TOUR
